“I recently had the opportunity to visit SecurityPal’s headquarters in Kathmandu, Nepal. We had so many unique experiences while I was there, including visiting the U.S. embassy, meeting the U.S. ambassador, and traveling to Mount Everest base camp! The entire team was super friendly, and it was great to see how SecurityPal is a driving force of developing a tech center in Nepal.”

The Challenge: Streamlining Security Questionnaires

When Josh Mullis first joined Productiv as Head of Information Security (InfoSec), the company was up for renewal with SecurityPal. The team was challenged with completing a high volume of security questionnaires, and they wanted to increase adoption of SecurityPal across their InfoSec and Sales teams. Josh was looking for standardization, scalability, and repeatability to ensure that the entire Productiv team could utilize SecurityPal to its fullest extent.

“Within my first two weeks at Productiv, I was handed a 600-question security questionnaire,” Josh Mullis, Head of Information Security at Productiv says. “It took 20 hours across several teams to complete it.”

Recognizing the need to expedite the questionnaire process, SecurityPal refreshed Productiv’s question bank with updated documentation and built out training materials to embed SecurityPal into Productiv’s existing processes, especially for the InfoSec and GTM teams.

Key Challenges:

  1. Streamlining security questionnaire workflows
  2. Training and development for cross-team adoption of SecurityPal workflows
  3. Reducing SLAs for security reviews

The Solution: Unlocking Agility with SecurityPal

Prior to partnering with SecurityPal, Productiv’s InfoSec team needed up to two weeks lead time — or 20 hours — in order to complete security questionnaires. With SecurityPal's Security Questionnaire Concierge, which leverages cutting-edge AI technology and a team of certified security analysts, the InfoSec team now spends less than 30 minutes reviewing each questionnaire. This means they can complete reviews within 3-4 days, significantly reducing the burden on Productiv’s internal team and the turnaround time for prospects and customers.

“Agility is a huge differentiator to stay competitive,” Mullis says. “SecurityPal helps us stand out to prospects by being proactive and efficient with Security Questionnaires.”

SecurityPal reaches out to Productiv’s customers proactively asking for questionnaires to start the process early. Once a questionnaire is submitted to Questionnaire Concierge, it’s completed within two business days and returned to the InfoSec and Sales teams for review.

“SecurityPal helps us to build trust with our customers,” Mullis explains. “It often only takes our team 20 minutes to QA a questionnaire because SecurityPal’s first pass is so complete and accurate. Being able to turn around questionnaires within 3 days shows that we’re confident in our security posture and transparent with our customers and partners.”

The Impact: Building Customer Trust

By reducing the time spent on security questionnaires, SecurityPal continues to drive Productiv’s go-to-market function so their InfoSec team can focus more on the risk mitigation function. In Mullis’ role as Head of InfoSec, about 30% of his time is dedicated to the Security team.

“If 30% of my time is all I have for security, and I have to spend half of it on security questions, what impact can I really have on the security of the company?” Mullis explains. “If we’re not building customer trust, we’re not making money. But security questionnaires take away time our Security team needs to spend on risk mitigation.”

The partnership between Productiv and SecurityPal exemplifies how innovative solutions can revolutionize traditional processes in cybersecurity. By leveraging SecurityPal's expertise and technology, Productiv not only reduced the time and effort required for security questionnaires but also enhanced agility, customer trust, and ultimately, the company's competitive edge.

Agility is a huge differentiator to stay competitive, SecurityPal helps us stand out to prospects by being proactive and efficient with Security Questionnaires.
